Why War of Soccer exists

War of Soccer started as an independent project and never stopped being one. Hardik Trehan grew up watching Lionel Messi, and this is a tribute built out of that — a game about the part of football that actually decides matches: one player, one ball, one moment, and whether you time it.

It is out now, built for the 2026 World Cup Final— Messi’s last, by his own words. That is why the site carries every World Cup Final since 1930: if you are going to release on the biggest day football has, you should know what came before it.

The approach

Both games share one rule: the sport has to be real. Ball flight is simulated, not faked — drag, lift and spin, with the Magnus effect doing the bending. Outcomes are earned by timing and reading the situation, never by a random roll. And everything runs in a browser tab, because the best moment to play football is the moment you think of it, not after a 4GB download.

The writing on this site follows the same rule. Every World Cup final page is built from data parsed out of the public record — scores, scorers, minutes, referees, crowds — not from memory. Every page lists its sources.
