Alban Lafont is a 6 ft 5 in goalkeeper, once Ligue 1's youngest starter, who left Nantes for newly promoted Amedspor on 22 July 2026 after a season on loan at Panathinaikos.

Career

Born in Ouagadougou, he came through Toulouse and started in Ligue 1 at 16 years and 10 months. Fiorentina signed him in 2018; Nantes took him on loan in 2019 and made the deal permanent in 2021 for a club-record fee for a goalkeeper.

He lost the Nantes shirt in 2025, spent 2025–26 on loan at Panathinaikos (including a Europa League run) and returned only to be sold. Ouest-France reported a €1 million fee to Amedspor, newly promoted to the Süper Lig, on 22 July 2026.

How they play

A tall, right-footed shot-stopper who claims crosses and plays out with his feet; at Nantes he was also captain before the No.1 shirt went back to Maxime Dupé.

Where they are now

He has started Süper Lig matches for Amedspor, with FotMob listing two league games before a 31 August trip to Trabzonspor. He switched senior international allegiance from France youth sides to Ivory Coast in 2025.
