Now 35, Brazil left-back Alex Sandro has spent his final career chapter as a leadership figure at Flamengo, having extended his contract through 2027 after nine seasons as a Juventus mainstay in Turin.
Career
Alex Sandro rose through Corinthians' and Santos's academies before a brief spell in Uruguay with Deportivo Maldonado, then broke through in Europe at FC Porto (2011-2015), where he won two Primeira Liga titles.
A 2015 move to Juventus turned into a nine-year stay in which he won five Serie A titles and reached a Champions League final (2017), becoming one of the most consistent left-backs in Italian football.
He returned to Brazil in August 2024 to join Flamengo, where he has been used as both a starting left-back and a senior dressing-room voice.
