Boualem Khoukhi is a Bou Ismaïl-born centre-back who switched from Algeria youth sides to Qatar, won the 2019 and 2023 Asian Cups, and remains Al Sadd’s No.16 with a deal through June 2027.

Career

He left JSM Chéraga for Al-Arabi in 2009, scored freely as a box-to-box midfielder, then moved to Al Sadd in July 2017 and converted into a centre-back. FotMob lists 247 appearances and 25 goals for Al Sadd since that transfer.

He has more than 120 Qatar caps. Playmakerstats and Sofascore both still list him at Al Sadd for 2026–27, contract running to 30 June 2027, after another Qatar Stars League title in 2025–26.
