Camilo Vargas is Atlas's long-serving goalkeeper and a Colombia regular, still starting in Liga MX at 37 after more than 240 league appearances for the Guadalajara club.

Career

Vargas made his name at Independiente Santa Fe, then had spells at Atlético Nacional, on loan at Argentinos Juniors and Deportivo Cali, before joining Atlas in 2019. He has been first choice there ever since, with Wikipedia recording 242 Liga MX appearances through May 2026.

Colombia have kept calling him: he remains in the national-team picture through the 2026 cycle and is the shot-stopper Atlas fans still call San Camilo.

A left-footed keeper, he is known for close-range reactions and for organising a defence that has leaned on him for seven seasons.

Where they are now

He started Atlas's 2026–27 Liga MX campaign and, on 16 August 2026, was the standout in a win over Tigres on the club's 110th anniversary, dedicating the result to the barra and to Colombia.
