Career
The Campo Grande midfielder came through Desportivo Brasil, Cruzeiro, Corinthians and Fortaleza, joined Salernitana in January 2022, then moved to Atalanta later that year (Wikipedia).
Wikipedia records more than 150 Atalanta appearances and the 2023–24 UEFA Europa League. He scored his first Champions League goal in a 2–2 draw at Barcelona on 29 January 2025. The Athletic (2 June 2026) reported United had agreed €40.5 million plus €4.5 million in add-ons; on 17 July it reported the deal was abandoned after a second medical and that Atalanta had extended his contract.

A 1.83 m central midfielder. Under Gian Piero Gasperini he typically sat in a two-man midfield in a 3-4-3 (Wikipedia). The Athletic compared him at his best to Pac-Man and recalled Atalanta's 3–0 Europa League semi-final first leg at Anfield in 2024.

English Wikipedia (updated 1 September 2026) still lists Atalanta as his club, shirt number 13. Atalanta's statement, quoted by The Athletic, said the bond had 'further consolidated' after the United move was dropped.
