Career

A Montevideo left-back from Defensor Sporting, he had spells at River Plate (Uruguay) and Peñarol before Palmeiras announced him on 31 July 2021 through 31 December 2025. He started the 2021 Copa Libertadores final, a 2–1 win over Flamengo, and was named in the 2022 Brasileirão Team of the Year (Wikipedia).

Transfermarkt records a contract extension on 25 July 2025 through 31 December 2030. Palmeiras's official account wished him a happy 28th birthday on 24 August 2026 and still called him 'meu lateral-esquerdo'.

How they play

A 1.85 m attacking left-back who can step into midfield. Wikipedia notes his first Palmeiras goal in a Copa do Brasil round-of-16 second leg against São Paulo, the night he also reached 100 appearances.

Where they are now

UOL (27 August 2026): Abel Ferreira's staff diagnosed a right-thigh edema after the Copa do Brasil win over Santos; Sporting News said he was then unavailable for Mirassol on 30 August, with no return date. Sofascore tagged the same thigh problem from 27 August, expected back in one to two weeks.

He has 19 Uruguay caps (Wikipedia, 27 March 2026). Transfermarkt still lists Palmeiras, shirt 22.
