Agustín Canobbio is a Uruguay winger at Fluminense, signed in January 2025 after Athletico Paranaense's relegation, and still a starter in Rio through the 2026 Libertadores round of 16.
Career
The son of former professional Osvaldo Canobbio, he came through Fénix and Peñarol in Montevideo before Athletico Paranaense paid a reported €2 million in 2022. He made 100 league appearances there.
Fluminense signed him on 11 January 2025 after Athletico went down. Portuguese Wikipedia called it the club's second-most expensive signing, 80% of his rights for €6 million. He has 45 Série A games and eight league goals for Flu across 2025 and 2026.
How they play
A 5 ft 9 in, right-footed wide attacker who can play on either wing or as an attacking midfielder; Fluminense have used him as a regular starter in Série A and the Libertadores.
Where they are now
He has four Série A goals in 2026. On 20 August he was sent off in the Libertadores round-of-16 second leg against Independiente Rivadavia; Fluminense still went through 5–4 on penalties after a 1–1 draw.

A big-money move to Rio2025
Fluminense announced him on 11 January 2025 on a deal through 31 December 2028. Transfermarkt lists the joining date as 10 January and a current market value of €8 million.
A red card, then a penalty-shootout win2026
ESPN recorded a second yellow in the 57th minute against Independiente Rivadavia on 20 August 2026. Ten-man Fluminense still reached the quarter-finals on penalties; Canobbio posted that it was time to learn and go again.
