Born in Châlons-en-Champagne on 22 October 1991 and an Algeria international, Mandi played 152 La Liga games for Real Betis and 54 for Villarreal before signing for Lille on 1 August 2024 on a two-year deal.

Wikipedia records 24 Ligue 1 appearances in 2024-25 and 29 plus 11 Europa League games (1 league goal) in 2025-26 — 40 matches that Levante's own announcement cites. He was named Lille OSC Player of the Season and made the CIES Ligue 1 Team of the Season for 2025-26.

Levante announced the free transfer on 16 July 2026. ESPN lists him as Levante's No. 2 with a 2026-27 La Liga start already logged.
