Jahanbakhsh spent most of his club career in the Netherlands (Heerenveen, AZ Alkmaar, NEC Nijmegen and Feyenoord) before a Premier League spell at Brighton and a return to Feyenoord, then Heerenveen again.
FC Dender announced a one-season contract with an option for an additional year, describing him as a 32-year-old flank attacker who had last been at SC Heerenveen.
