Brandon Mechele is Club Brugge's homegrown centre-back, past 500 appearances in blue and black, and the only Belgium player to finish every 2026 World Cup match.
Career
Born in Bredene, he joined Brugge's youth side at six and debuted in 2013. Apart from an 2016–17 loan at Sint-Truiden he has been a one-club man, with Wikipedia listing 402 league appearances.
He has seven Belgian titles and two cups. On 30 April 2026 the club announced he and Hans Vanaken had both extended to at least 2028. On 20 August 2025 he made his 500th Brugge appearance, scoring in a 3–1 Champions League qualifier at Rangers.

Named in the 15 May 2026 World Cup squad, he was the only Belgium player to complete all six matches, from the group through a quarter-final defeat by Spain on 10 July.
