Career
After a decade in Europe (Midtjylland, Esbjerg, Paços de Ferreira, Kasımpaşa, Cádiz, Sparta Prague, Grasshopper) he joined Castellón in February 2025 from Grasshopper.
Castellón's own site said he played 30 official matches in his first year there (1 goal, 9 assists) and in December 2025 extended to 30 June 2028.
On 6 August 2026 MARCA and ESPN reported Castellón sold him to Melbourne City on a three-year contract; ESPN cited 45 Castellón appearances and a return that reunites him with Socceroos Aziz Behich and Mathew Leckie.

On 6 August 2026 Castellón announced the sale of Mabil to Melbourne City on a three-year contract, ending a year and a half in Spain. He told ESPN he was excited to come home after more than a decade in Europe.
