N'Golo Kanté is a France midfielder who joined Fenerbahçe in February 2026 after FIFA stepped in to rescue a deadline-day move that Al-Ittihad's paperwork had blocked.
Career
He came through Boulogne and Caen, then won the Premier League with Leicester City in 2015–16 and again with Chelsea, where he also lifted the 2018 World Cup with France and the 2021 Champions League.
A free move to Al-Ittihad in 2023 produced a Saudi Pro League title in 2024–25. On 2–3 February 2026 Fenerbahçe signed him through June 2028 after a planned swap with Youssef En-Nesyri stalled in FIFA's transfer system and was then cleared.
How they play
A 5 ft 6 in defensive midfielder who covers ground, steals the ball and plays simple, right-footed passes; Chelsea and France used him as the engine in front of the back four.
Where they are now
He has started regularly in the Süper Lig and is contracted until June 2028. Fenerbahçe's next European date after this check was a Champions League qualifier against Lyon on 26 August 2026.

Kanté started in France's 4–2 win over Croatia in the 2018 World Cup final, capping a tournament in which he was central to Didier Deschamps' midfield.
FIFA later cleared the TMS paperwork2026
Al-Ittihad's late filing in FIFA's Transfer Matching System collapsed the original deadline-day swap. FIFA intervened the next day and Fenerbahçe announced Kanté on a contract running to June 2028.
